Blogger – How to Update Page Contents

blogger6

This post is for those who Red Door Design Company has designed sites using the Blogger Platform. The steps below will teach you how to go into your own site and make updates to the page contents only

IMPORTANT – Blogger is blogging platform so by design posts are placed on the home page. Through design manipulation, we can use a post and make the contents static so the overall look of a site looks more like a website instead of a blog. If you edit an existing post or create a new one, it will affect your homepage layout. Therefore, new posts and/or changes to existing posts should not be made without discussing the same with Red Door Design Company.

1.  Log into your Blogger Account.

5.  Click on Edit and the page contents will appear in what looks similar to an email format.

NOTE:  If your site has a black background, it may be hard to view your text.  By design the text is the same color as what appears on your site.  If difficult to read during editing, change the text color but change it back to the original text color to ensure your site remains the way it should look.

6. Make any content changes/add new information and click on the oranage update next to the page title at the top of the window.

7.  You will be brought back to the list of your site pages.  Click on View Blog at the top of the window to be sure your changes are correct.

8. To leave your live site view, x out and return to the list of your site pages.  Make any additional changes, if necessary.

9.  To log out of your site, go to the top right-hand corner and look for the drop down next to your name and click on it and then select log out.

Tax Time is Approaching

webdesignAs April 15th quickly approaches, tax time will be here before we know it.  My paperwork is in pretty good shape; managing a small business on top of the household finances requires one to be organized.  I must admit I wish I was better at tracking somethings.

Since everyone usually starts working on their taxes after they receive their 1099′s or W-2′s, I like to get a jump on it my out-of-pocket medical expenses. Every little bit counts, right? And I am often surprised just how much we do spend.

Towards end of the year, I keep this in mind when going to the doctors.  I ask for a year-to-date statement of payments made to cross check against my records.  I do not always have money on hand when going to the doctors so sometimes I pay cash, with check or even charge our co-pay. Because life requires me to be inconsistent with how I pay for these services, requesting the statement helps to ensure I do not overlook something. If you didn’t do this yet, I suggest you reach out to your doctors as well as your children’s and get this part of your tax prep done.

I hope we all get refunds this year!

thumbs_4x5

Hey everyone…I have been working away.  I recently created a site for 4PointRepairs.com which is a local iPhone glass replacement service.  In addition, I set them up with a Facebook business page.  Go over and check her out!!  The owner is fast and reliable and even better cheaper than the competitors at the mall!
